Carolina Tiger Rescue Takes Custody of Four Big Cats

An experienced construction professional in the Chapel Hill, NC region, Ted Vitale is has a number of years of expertise in the construction industry. In addition, he supports several charities, including Best Buddies for Autism and Carolina Tiger Rescue.

The mission of Carolina Tiger Rescue is to save and protect wild cats held in captivity, endangered in the wild, abandoned, relinquished by pet owners. Part of the work entails community education and advocacy.

In May 2021, Carolina Tiger Rescue confirmed that it had worked out modalities with relevant bodies like the Department of Justice to take custody of four cats rescued from Tiger King Park in Thackerville. Until they get permanent homes, the cats will be housed at the Pittsboro sanctuary. Earlier the DOJ had seized 68 cats from the Oklahoma park.
